Alisha performed at Hyper Japan?!

I N T R O D U C T I O N

Hello my lovelies~ It is I, Alisha, finally able to write a blog post~
So, those of you who follow my Tumblr and YouTube, etc. will know that I was given the amazing opportunity to perform my first ever live set at Hyper Japan Christmas Market 2014 at Olympia, London~ It was so exciting!
I applied months in advance and totally never thought I'd get selected, and then a few weeks before the actual convention I found my reply in the junk folder of my email! They'd messaged me asking to perform months ago, noooooooo T^T
I thought from this point that it would be totally doomed and I would no longer be able to perform, however, after speaking with one of the organisers for HJ, we arranged for me to perform! Woo!

I had about 2 weeks to prepare a 20 minute set (brilliant preparation, I know, but I didn't think I'd been accepted haha~) and in the end I could only perform half of my set due to technical difficulties that were neither my own nor Hyper Japan's fault, the CD player decided to be difficult and it had done so for a few of the other performers throughout the day, too.
But that didn't even matter in the end because I had a great time and so many people took pictures of me \(^o^)/ When I went to MCM Expo in London, May 2013, not one person took my photo... However, at Hyper Japan, I was being stopped for photos all the time and I even had some people taking them when I hadn't been asked/I didn't know and people pointed it out to me, haha~

So now I will link to my video which explains in more detail what I purchased, and the video also contains my live set (thanks to my ex-boyfriend, Jamie, who filmed it for me):

Here are some photos from my performance~

Here is my set list:
(Note: this also includes songs I would've performed had the CD player not broken)
1. Bad Apple!! (TOUHOU)
2. a little pain (NANA)
3. Danjo
4. Lonely in Gorgeous (Paradise Kiss)
5. te-yu-te (Kagamine Rin)
6. Mozaik Role (English)

In the end I had to remove 3/6 songs, so I only had half of my set list ToT
I'm determined to have better organisational skills for my next performance~!

Here are some random selfies that I took at the event, haha~

Me and Jamie~

Me on my own~

I also had the opportunity to meet Kelsey again (I last met her at London MCM Expo 2013)
I watched her performance (which I just about managed to get there in time for T^T)
And then we took a polaroid together~ Well, Andy took the photo (KleptoPenguin)
I always say it, but Kelsey is so so SO lovely in real life, she's a total sweetheart<3

Excuse the fuzzy bit in the corner, my phone case decided to get involved....

Over-all, I had SUCH a great time at Hyper Japan, and I'm going again in July this year~!
(Hopefully I will be performing again, but we shall seeeeee)
I 100% recommend this convention to everyone who lives in the UK that reads this blog,
I really think you would all enjoy yourselves, even Jamie had a good time and he doesn't even have that much of an interest in Japanese culture, he was just chaperoning me. orz
They have such a wide range of fashion styles, and there's even a fashion show for budding models~ I couldn't actually watch the fashion show because that was when my performance was happening... oops.

AND~ I met Diana Garnet and watched her perform! Okay so, for those of you who don't know who she is, she was a YouTube coverist (Youtaitte) by the name of 'Tonkhai'. Basically, she used to do what I do now, and it was mainly her covers that inspired me to start singing myself.
ANYWAY.
She sent off some demos to Sony Music Japan, and they absolutely loved her (of course they would) and she is now signed as a recording artist and is living in Japan~! I am SO happy for her I could cry.
I loved her covers and I now own her album~
Seeing her perform in person was really emotional because she's such an inspiration to me, as I'm aiming to become a recording artist myself. It's kind of making me see that it could actually potentially happen if I keep working at it. It was a very emotional experience. Yes.
I don't think Jamie understood why I was almost crying, haha~

I did have more pictures but they seem to have vanished T^T
Although in all honesty I couldn't take very many pictures because I was too busy running around trying to see and do everything before my performance.
I was lucky to attend both sessions, and they offered to let me keep my pass so that I could attend the next day, but as I don't live in London I had to go home, haha~ booooooooo
I don't know how the people that only go for one session manage ;-; I wanted to do EVERYTHING.

If you go to Hyper Japan, you'll probably be like me after a while and go running upstairs to escape from all the food (because, as you all know, food makes me pretty awkward after a while) and they certainly have a looooooot of food there, but it smelled really good and I kinda regret not trying Takoyaki now because it looked amazing (but I think octopi are super cute so I don't think I could ever ever eat one ;;~;;)
