Today it's going to be a review for a wig that I purchased FOREVER ago.
Which I recently received in the post... \(^o^)/
Unfortunately, at the time of me ordering this wig, it clashed with a whole bunch of Chinese holidays, so the postage was delayed a lot. I ordered it about a month and a half ago...
The expected delivery date was the 6th of October, but we were out at the time. U.U
So, we got it re-scheduled to be delivered on the 8th. ^w^
I'm going to say this now, this review isn't exactly going to be positive...
First, I'll start by comparing the actual wig to the stock images used...
I brought the wig from an eBay seller in China, and it cost roughly £10 which is pretty cheap.
So I wasn't expecting an amazing wig, but what I got was pretty disappointing. e.e
Here's the stock image used to show the back of the wig, and as you can see, one half of the wig is almost a dirty-blonde colour, and the other half is brown and blonde highlights...
Here is a photo of the actual wig I received from the back. As you can see, it almost looks greasy, and certainly doesn't look soft like the wig in the stock photo. The two-tone thing just didn't happen, and it's all one colour, which is a very awkward shade of brown that's very close to being orange. No matter how much I brush it, it doesn't want to look nice at the ends. It flicks around all over the place and sticks right out. Most of all, I'm annoyed by the greasy appearance. It's gross. It looks like, if it was my real hair, I'd skipped having a bath for about two weeks. Yuck.
Here's the stock image from the front of the wig... Here you can see the colour split between the two halves, and you can see just how blonde one side of the wig is actually supposed to be. Also, take note of the straight fringe. One of the reasons I brought this wig was because of the bangs, I wanted a wig with straight bangs that I wouldn't have to cut myself... Did I get that? Oh noooo.
Here's a photo of the actual wig from the front. I have it hanging on a lamp stand because I have nowhere else to put it. LOL. So ignore that. xD But as you can see, there's not a blonde half in sight. You can just about make out some really dodgy dark brown streaks in the left hand section of the wig, but it's nothing like it was described as being. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the wig before I cut a fringe in, but let's just say it wasn't as described. Not much about this wig was as it was described though...
This is a close-up of the fringe, which I did have to cut myself, and it's still not perfect because this wig was so poorly made that strands keep actually falling out of it, big chunks of it keep coming out without even being brushed, etc. So, the bangs keep thinning out and I have to re-cut them. It's pretty annoying, really. I wore it out the other night to an event I was running and most of one half almost fell out, which was pretty awkward...
Over-all, it's really easy to see that this wig is nothing like the wig described. Sure, it's got curls at the end, and sure there is some colour difference, but it's not anything like the stock photos. But, I guess you get what you pay for. Although, the last wig I purchased cost £11 and it was completely as described, so I suppose this was just a dodgy wig. Haha~
So, if you see this wig being sold online, don't fall for it, because the wig you get will not be what you're expecting, not even close to it. It's better to save up for a more expensive wig from a trusted seller, eBay's kinda difficult... You never really know whether you're going to get what you're being sold, so I recommend buying only from sellers with really good ratings. (which this seller had, somehow) and read the reviews left for the product you're going to buy before you buy it. Unfortunately, there weren't any for this wig, so I just dived in and brought it, which was obviously a bad call on my part, and I won't be buying from that seller again. ~~
This concludes my review for this wig~ Hopefully, the next review I do will be along a happier line!
