[K-Pop] Pray for Ladies' Code

As I'm sure most of you who follow the K-Pop scene will be aware, in the early hours of the morning on the 3rd of September, EunB of the South Korean girl group Ladies' Code tragically lost her life in a car accident. This accident also involved the entire group; plus their stylists, management and driver.

At around 1:30AM, the group van was heading back towards Seoul when they lost their two back wheels and began to skid on the wet roads, before eventually colliding with a safety wall. Luckily, the stylists and managers were practically unharmed, whilst the members of the group sustained varying injuries.

EunB was transported to hospital, however, sadly, she was pronounced DOA (Dead on Arrival) after sustaining a severe brain haemorrhage during the accident.

Two other members said to be severely injured were Sojung (whose birthday it was at the time - she had just turned 21) and RiSe. Both were taken to hospital, along with the other two girls; Ashley and Zuny, whom are currently still being treated for severe shock.

RiSe suffered a lot of damage to her brain, causing haemorrhaging. She underwent brain surgery for over 11 hours in order to stabilise her condition, however, she is still currently under close observation and her condition is said to be deteriorating, sources say. It is still unsure as to whether or not RiSe will be able to function normally again.

Sojung sustained a lot of injuries to her face. When the fire service arrived at the crash site, they were unable to identify her. From this, we can only assume that her injuries must be quite severe. Her management has released a statement saying that she has undergone surgery on a fracture on her arm, but as of yet, they have not commented on her facial injuries.

The official statement released by the group's management, Polaris Entertainment, says this:

'After a schedule in Daegu on September 2, Ladies’ Code was headed back to Seoul. Around 1:30 AM in Suwon, an issue occured with the car′s back wheel coming off. With the rainy road and wheel coming off, the vehicle spun several times, hitting a guardrail.

Due to this, Eun Bi unfortunately passed away. The other members, Rise is in critical condition while So Jung is injured and hospitalised, currently receiving treatment. The other members, manager, and stylists, who were in the car, did not receive serious injuries.

We want to apologise to all the fans and everyone who have received much shock, and we ask for everyone to pray for the quick recovery of the members.’

EunB, real name Go Eun-bi, was 22 years old at the time of her death. She still had so many years left to spend on this earth, but tragically, she was taken very young. Unfortunately, I hadn't really had much of a chance to fully appreciate Ladies' Code since their debut in 2013. Since EunB's passing, I have gone on to listen to every track released by the group. True talent is something that should be celebrated with happiness in this world.

Although EunB is gone, her talent remains behind in the form of every line of vocals she sang with her friends in Ladies' Code. Her beautiful smile, said to be 'infectious' because seeing it would instantly cause you to smile, remains behind in the thousands of images taken by fans or during promotions.

Although it is terribly sad that we have lost such a great talent so young, I feel that rather than being mournful, EunB would want her fans to be happy, to remember the things that she has done. To remember her smile. To continue to think of her as EunBitamin (vitamin), capable of making anyone feel better just by seeing her  radiant, smiling face.

Whilst we continue to pray for the recovery of the other members of Ladies' Code whom were luckily left behind, particularly RiSe, let us also celebrate the success that the group has had since debuting not that long ago in 2013.

My heart truly goes out to the members of Ladies' Code, their staff, families... Words cannot describe the pain that this tragedy must have caused them. I really, really hope that RiSe's condition will stabilise enough for them to be able to conclude whether there will be any long-lasting damage and how far it extends. I hope that the girls in Ladies' Code will continue to be friends, to support one another, especially now after the loss of EunB. I wish for the speedy recovery of the other girls, and I really hope that Sojung is able to continue performing if she chooses to. I hope that her injuries will not restrict her.

Now, I will share some of my favourite pictures of EunB, to showcase her fun and bubbly personality:
